what, the petrol price raised again?

i was watching the news while waiting for my housemate getting dressed up for our tarawikh prayer. one of the headlines attracted me - increment of the petrol price (again!). after midnight, the RON 95 is going to be sold at RM1.80/litre (before: RM1.75) and RON 97 is at RM2.05/litre (before: RM1.80). previously, i used to hear people complaining about the irrelevant petrol price and now after having my own car, i want to complain too. haih!even a cent really matters!

anyway, what's the difference between RON95 and RON97?

The Difference between RON92, RON95, RON97 and RON99

Many said that RON92 oil is the > older oil, only suitable for older cars or for cars that uses carburetor only. There are also some that said that RON92 oil will make the engine dirty and also said that RON92 oil is less powerful compared to RON97 and RON99. Before you make any false assumptions, let us see what the real meaning of RON is. RON stands for Research Octane Number. Octane number or octane rating refers to the gasoline ability to withstand auto ignition (knocking) inside the engine.

Higher octane number refers to higher ability of the oil to fight auto ignition. In other words, it means that RON95 is harder to ignite compared to RON92. Different vehicles are designed to be use with different octane number of oil. Higher octane number oil is basically designed for high performance vehicles such as sport vehicle and racing vehicle. Why is that so? This is to avoid premature ignition of oil inside the engine because of auto ignition, which happens before the spark plug ignite the fuel. This phenomenon is known as knocking. Knocking is not wanted because it reduces the performance of vehicle.

The right usage of octane number based on design and adjustment of engine will maximize the performance and effectiveness of the vehicle. Modern vehicles are equipped with knock sensor which enables it to adjust its combustion timing automatically according to the oil octane number to avoid knocking or premature ignition of oil.

Not all vehicles require high octane number petrol. You can check your vehicle fuel requirement inside the guide book of your vehicle or you can simply check the minimum Octane Rating at the back of the fuel lid cover of your vehicle. 'Kedah?'

'Alhamdulillah, memang kakak saja mintak sana pun. i wanna my life to be a bit adventurous, ' kata saya kepada mama tanpa saya mengetahui sangatlah 'adventurous' hidup yang saya bakal lalui hingga beberapa kali mengundang air mata saya.

hari raya keempat, saya bersama abang hafiz sudah bersiap sedia untuk perjalanan kami ke utara. buat saya, rasanya seakan tidak bersedia untuk memulakan hidup saya di tempat baru seorang diri tanpa ada kenalan di sana. sengaja saya mengambil risiko ini. untuk menguji diri sendiri. saya inginkan penghijrahan sentiasa berlaku dalam hidup saya kerana saya yakin setiap kali berlaku hijrah, maka akan ada pelajaran hidup di situ. memang mudah kalau saya minta untuk 'posting' di taiping, makan minum, tempat tinggal semuanya ada. tetapi, saya tidak akan puas kerana persekitaran yang sama pasti mengongkong potensi diri yang perlu saya keluarkan.

hari pertama mendaftar diri di Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Kedah, minda saya benar-benar kosong. namun saya tekadkan hati apa sahaja yang saya bakal terima nanti semuanya pilihan Allah buat saya. He knows the best for me. dan akhirnya, Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah yang bakal menerima kedatangan saya. maka menetaplah saya di Alor Star. terima kasih sangat-sangat pada abang fiz dan kak ziana yang banyak bersabar dengan urusan lapor diri yang menyusahkan. banyak sangat prosedur itu dan ini. mereka menanti saya sehingga selesai urusan yang berkaitan. pesan abang hafiz sebelum meninggalkan saya pada hari itu, 'ada apa-apa nanti, call abang. cuba cari rumah lepas habis kerja hari ni, kalau tak dapat rumah, baru drive balik ke perlis, ok?' abang fiz betul-betul meletakkan sepenuh kepercayaan yang adiknya ini mampu berdikari sendiri. terima kasih bayya.

seusai habis hari pertama saya di tempat kerja baru, mata saya melilau mencari mungkin ada orang yang ingin menyewakan rumah. sudahlah saya baru saja berjinak-jinak memegang stereng kereta, memandu di tempat yang sungguh asing buat saya pula - hanya Dia tempat pergantungan saya. hanya Allah tahu betapa takutnya saya ketika itu. cari punya cari, akhirnya saya mengambil keputusan menumpang di rumah sewa yang kebetulan disewa oleh prp yang seangkatan saya. lagipun hari sudah hampir gelap. bolehlah saya menumpang sehari dua sementara mencari rumah lain.

malam itu, seusai solat maghrib, saya menangis sepuasnya. mengadu pada abang hafiz, tetapi diketawakannya saya. 'kata nak adventure kan?' hahaha..sarah, dun worry. Allah is with you..' ayat terakhirnya itu sedikit buat hati saya lega walaupun tidak sepenuhnya. dan sebelum tidur pada malam itu, sengaja saya telefon mama dan babah. pinta kata-kata semangat buat diri untuk menempuh hari-hari mendatang. 'esok adalah hari yang baru buat aku. aku perlu jadi lebih baik daripada hari ini,' bisik saya ke dalam hati.
