frankly speaking, my emotion is often labile recently. pretending to be happy when i'm not. why? perhaps, i haven't find something that can really boost the real me. sounds like i'm unmotivated yeah? yes, indeed. i'm still looking for the right pace to bring me out from this unwanted feeling. but life could be so hard back then. oh, this is really a test from Him/Al-Ibtilaa' (Allah's Test). as He mentioned in the Holy Quran (Al-Baqarah, 155-157):
"And we will surely test you with some fear, hunger and shortages of property, people and produce. But give good tidings to the steadfast. Those who, when a calamity befalls them say: "We belong to Allah and to Him we return."
Ya Allah, put me at ease, please, please. let the perseverance envelops me. there is a saying - 'victory belongs to the most persevering'.

here goes the antidote for unmotivated me. from my favorite author, Andrew Matthews.
How do you survive when life gets tough?
How do you hang on when you are grieving, lonely or broke?
You can only tackle your problems as you would climb a mountain ...
If you go rock climbing - and you get stuck on a precipice - you suddenly focus on the present moment! All your effort goes into your next step. Then your next step. Inch by inch.
Eventually you find that the worst is over.
The same strategy works for everyday life.
When things seem desperate, you can only focus on the present moment. One problem at a time. You take a step. You get a little confidence ... and take another step, and another. How do you hang on when you are grieving, lonely or broke?

If you were to worry about a) everything you need to do in the next year, or b) everything that could go wrong in the next year, you might go bananas!
But you can handle one day at a time.
And whenever 24 hours is too scary, bite off five minutes at a time.
In a nutshell:
All you can do is give your best effort until bedtime. Let tomorrow take care of itself.

Sarah,
When everything seems to overwhelm you, take a step back and relax and forgive yourself. Make peace with your own self. Then take a deep breath before you move on.
Life is like eating an elephant; bite only as much as you can chew. One bite at a time and 'eventually you'll find that the worst is over'...
(I'm talking to you as much as to myself here. Life's tough at the moment. But we'll make it thru, right?)
